Hen party (Junggesellinnenabschied) at the farm shop

Hello my sweet Mau-mau's,

my sister is (finally) going to marry and although she actually refused to have a "hen night", my mom and I thought that it simply need to happen. \(^///^)/

My sis isn't the kind of person who enjoys partying through the night and trying to sell useless bits and bobs to passers-by in the city by wearing a vendor's tray
(To my dear future witness: I hate this kind of hen parties also and I would probably kill you in case you would come up with such a "groundbreaking" idea for my hen's night. >__<" ...............just sayin X'D)
So, what else to do? My mom came up with the idea to visit a farm shop nearby. She told me that when they pass a farm and cow pastures, my sis started talking about how much she would enjoy to pet and feed the cows. Pretty cute, isn't it? Ever since I can remember my sister had this special connection with animals. From an early age we both were used to pets and my sister was always the one who seems to have a more direct line to them.
We contacted the owners of a farm which only keep mother cows. Mother cow means that this cows only produce milk for their calves and they are not milked.

Luckily we could arrange an appointment and the surprise was perfect:
My mom and I went during the morning to my sisters home. Well, my mum was once again to EARLY at my sisters place so I had to initiate the "assault" by my own :P . I told her to get ready, we bandaged her eyes and went then straight to the farm by car.

Here we go - my sis and my mum

My sisters "surprise face" was really cute as she could finally open her eyes again. So we made our way to the pastures with the farmer:

Next up where the goats.

Then two bunnies caught our attention just to steal our hearts by being simply incredible cute (It was almost to difficult to handle such cuteness XD)

L.O.V.E.

Isn't it just adorable ?!?

<3

*__* cuteness overload

The bunnies were relly tame. They used to people due their part of the petting farm just like the goats.

We afterwards went to the PapaTai Restaurant for some Sushi. <3 It is my favourite Sushi Restaurant in Aachen. Of course we had a seat at the traditional japanese short-legged (dining) tables (so called "chabudai"). The waiters even noticed that it has been a time since I came last time along with my "girls in pretty dresses" (we had more than once a seat there during the Aix-La-Chapelle Lolita Meet-Ups).

I'm glad that it was a real surprise for my sis and that she had lots of fun. <3
I really looking forward to the wedding now <3

Staycation - Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery and Memorial & Aubel

Hello my lovely maucha's,

last weekend we started another "Staycation"-trip. Following the advice of a colleague of mine, we headed to visit Aubel. Aubel is a municipality in Belgium in the Wallon province of Li├Ęge. On our way to Aubel we made a stopover at the American Cemetery & Memorial in Henri-Chapelle. It is located around 15km from Aachen.

By entering the cemetory through the pillars entrance you get a fascinating but also sad sight:

archangel with bay leaf is the patron saint

The memorial contains the graves of around 8,000 american military members who died during World War II. Most of them were soldiers, but there were also a few priests or diplomats.

Next to the cemetery is also a chapel and a little museum which we could not enter that day.

Nearby the cemetery, you have a beautiful of Belgiums countryside:

Before we made our way further to Aubel we took a few souvenir photos:

Next up was then finally Aubel. Here we actually only visited Val-Dieu Abbey and took a stoll through the gardens.

I really enjoyed our little roadtrip and the whole weekend with my "better half". For the next few weeks we will be both pretty busy and won't be able to spend that much time together. Well, maybe this is the reason why our joint trips are then even more better. <3
