Mochi, Kuraude and I were finally infected by the Cake Pop hype and so we tried to make some for the very first time yesterday. One thing beforehand: I didn't expected that making Cake Pop would cost that much time - but it was worth! =)
We used a Cake Pop Maker which Mochi bought. At first I thought that this Cake Pop Maker would be a nice gimmick, but it turns out that it is an extremely helpful (and time-safing) lil machine. This Maker almost works like a waffle maker.
We used a sponge mixture for the Cake Pop and they turned out very fluffy. I LOVE fluffy batter. Due to the fact that we never made some cake pops before, we had a look at several recipes and suited them up for our personal affectations:
receipt for ~60 cake pops:
15g baking powder
15g vanillin sugar
1 or 2 squirt of milk
For the frosting we used melted chocolate, a sugar frosting and couverture raspberry.
The sponge mixture itself and the baking time didn't took that much time - but the frosting stuff did.. I guess, we were all pretty happy as we finally decorated the last cake pop. ^__^ All in all we spent about almost 3 hours in making this cake pops..
|we are looking a bit exhausted.. ^__^6|
In the end I am very satisfied with our first cake pops - they are not the prettiest but they hit the spot, even Don, who hasn't a sweet tooth, really likes them! ^__^
